1001 Tales of THE-KEK™

If u were to ask, this is impromptu trip. When AA did the zero fare sales, we already decided not to buy anything except for one trip to KK and my girls trip. But on the day AA launched it Sydney route, I was just toying around and OMG the offer is just too hard to say NO. The rest is history. And at the very last minute, I had my brother tagging along with us on board so there u go, extra people to help us with the kids too :)

The flight was at 1145 pm. the whole journey was ok. Khazin was sleeping all the way but Khilfi took some time to eat, read his book before he could settle down. When we reached Sydney it was about 945am local time. Sydney is 2 hours ahead of Malaysia time during our trip and it was the start of winter. Temperature on daily basis ranging from 13-16degree day time and by night time it dropped to 8-10degree if i am not mistaken. It was windy sometimes but the weather was still very much perfect for us to explore in and about.

We bought a local simcard from Optus. Cost us AUD20 with unlimited internet browsing for AUD2 daily (deductable from ur prepaid amount) and free calls and sms within Optus network and also AUD1 for 10 minutes call to Malaysia. We bought it direct from the airport and took the cab to go to the hotel. We stayed in Meriton on Kent Street and got the room via Agoda.com very affordable for a 5 star location. It was superb be it location wise and facilities.


So day 1 kick off straight away. Since the room is not ready yet, we just pop to the nearby kebab shop and had brunch. It just next to our hotel and only opposite the World Square. After the brunch,  we straight away walked to Darling Harbour. About 5 mins walk to the place frm our hotel. Very close nearby.





So the kids had fun at the playground. Went to Paddys market and just pop in there for a while  tgk2 souvenir and making mental note while the kids playing and continue overseeing them as the playground was huge and very interesting. There was a water park, sandy pit, a huge slides, flying fox, swings and many other things.







After they got somehow tired, we walked further up to the Harbour area. what an awesome view. the whole place was just very mesmerizing. I just love it. The marina and cockle bay area and you can see the aquarium, wharf and Harbourside mall and various hotels nearby.We went to Hard Rock Cafe which is inside Harbourside Mall. Got the souvenir and just walk around lil bit and later we walked back to the hotel.







  

Before that, we went to Coles to get the usual provisions. The veggies, potatoes, butter, milk, egg and other stuffs. And i bought our chicken stock here. FYI, Coles carry this brand under the name of Lilydale and its Halal. Tq to a friend for telling this and I also verified it against the Australian Muslim Forum and there is also another brand inside Coles under the name of steggles which is also Halal. so sgt senang. Since we are staying in Apartment all these makes it very easy peasy. Then we are back in the apartment ard 2pm. Settling down. Unpack. refresh and i prepare all the stuffs for dinner and we went out again to the Aquarium.


If u wanna visit some point of interest (POI) in sydney, please shop around and determine what u want. They actually offer a lot of package at cheaper rate online and especially for families. Like the Sydney Aquarium it was at 50% off for all 4 o'clock admission on the week that we went and cost me abt AUD40 if i am not mistaken for 2 adults and 2 kids to go in. Kewl kan.



So we spend like 2 hours inside and just later we walked around the Harbour again enjoying the night view. It was cold and the boys hand was freeezing. So we stop for coffee and hot choc for the boys and later back in the apartment i prepare the dinner. Menu for tonight was chicken soup, beans and carrot stir fry and also fried egg. The kids were having fun enjoying their stay and excited about tomorrow. And we settle for bed afterwards.
